Shri Gurdeep Singh was warmly welcomed as the Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation during his official visit to the DVC HQ in Kolkata. He assumed the additional charge of Chairman, DVC with effect from 01.06.2026. During his visit Shri Singh held a meeting with the senior executives of DVC to discuss the Corporation's ongoing initiatives and future roadmap. He also interacted with representatives of employees' unions who greeted him. As part of the visit, Shri Singh toured the DVC Load Dispatch Centre and visited the Control Room to look into the Corporation's grid management operations
In a landmark step towards sustainable mobility, DVC, in collaboration with Jadavpur University, unveiled the prototype of the iconic Kolkata Yellow Taxi retrofitted into a fully electric vehicle - the 'Green Yellow Taxi'. This pioneering initiative under DVC's R&D programme aims to promote affordable and sustainable e-mobility by transforming existing ICE vehicles into EVs through innovative retrofitting solutions. The project reflects DVC's commitment towards innovation, sustainability and collaborative research for a greener future.
A proud and landmark moment for DVC as a Corporation, has been the award of the ISO 37001 Certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards, for the successful implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS), reaffirming its steadfast commitment towards transparency, integrity, accountability and ethical governance. The certificate was ceremoniously unveiled today by the Chairman, DVC in the presence of the Chief Vigilance Officer, DVC, whose instrumental leadership and guidance played a pivotal role in achieving this milestone, along with his dedicated team.
Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 was observed at DVC HQ with a Swachhata Rally where employees and officials actively participated, reaffirming the Corporation's commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
